Today was our last day in India and a special one as it was Helen’s 18th birthday and Karla’s 30th.
We also made it the official birthday of Sarah M who had missed out as it was her 18th on the 1st day of our trip. We first visited the Lotus Temple – a wonderfully peaceful and spiritual place where we spent time reflecting on our amazing trip – praying for or thinking of the many children we have met who have so inspired us with their determination to do something with their lives despite their difficult circumstances.
We then went to the Cottage Emporium for final shopping – and yes Laura and Anne managed to find even more amazing bargains! We then headed to the stunning Imperial Hotel where we had afternoon tea with a wonderful birthday cake and pressies for our 3 birthday girls.
We’ve now reached the airport for our journey home. I’d like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful teachers – Anne Karla Laura Michael and Peter – and the 21 fabulous young people for making this such an amazing trip. We’ve had a fabulous summer – all 85 of us who have been with Saphara have had a truly life–changing experience. Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers.
