Today is a special day – 90 Saphara young people and teachers in India on the one day!
A day of joy and fulfilment for the Belfast team as we spend time in the beautiful Lotus Temple – a suitably spiritual place for our final reflections on the Saphara Journey with Purpose. Over these last days words like ‘life–changing’, ‘amazing’ and ‘inspirational’ have become commonplace and yet they are deeply felt and meant. As the Belfast team head home this evening we wish them safe travels and a good rest back home with their families and in their own beds.
A day of challenge – both physical and emotional – for the Down team as they trek to Donk Primary School and see the joy on the children’s faces as they teach their lessons with fun and vitality.
A day of travel and discovery for the Student team having finished their teaching at SNEHA and heading off to Haridwar to visit one of the holiest places for Hindus on the banks of the Ganges. They will have a few days sightseeing before heading back home on Tuesday.
A day of new adventure for the North and East team as they land into Delhi and spend the day visiting Fabindia to get kitted out for the 16 days ahead.
A day of sad farewells for me as I say goodbye to the Belfast team who I’ve lived and laughed and cried with over the past 2 weeks – with a special thanks to teachers Andrea, Mark and Paul who’ve been truly amazing in their support of the young people and of me, to Graham – my right hand man and website guru. Plus a day of happy hellos as the N&E team arrive with their energy and enthusiasm – which hopefully I can keep up with.
May God bless us all!Posted in Christine
